August in Saint-Tropez: The Month the Whole Riviera Comes to Play
There are eleven months in which Saint-Tropez is a village, and one in which it is the centre of the world. August is when the peninsula runs at full brilliance: the yachts moor stern-to along the old port, the beach clubs of Pampelonne hum from noon until sunset, and the evenings stretch long and warm over the Gulf. Les Nuits du Château de la Moutte turns fifty
Every August, Saint-Tropez reveals a side of itself that few first-time visitors expect: one of the most refined classical music festivals on the Mediterranean. Les Nuits du Château de la Moutte celebrates its 50th edition from 1 to 11 August 2026, and the anniversary programme is remarkable.
The festival opens on 1 August with cellist Gautier Capuçon, pianist Jérôme Ducros and dancers of the Ballet Preljocaj at the Pré des Pêcheurs — a free opening night for the whole town. On 3 August, violinist Lisa Batiashvili performs Bach, Mendelssohn and Dvořák with the Toulon Opera Orchestra in the courtyard of the Château de la Moutte. The evening everyone will talk about, though, is 6 August: Yuja Wang, one of the greatest pianists of our time, playing at sunset directly on the sand of Plage des Canebiers — “a star on the water”. The Modigliani Quartet with actor Guillaume Gallienne follows on 9 August, before soprano Pretty Yende closes the festival on 11 August.

The new name in Saint-Tropez nightlife: Lilly’s Club
If the festival is August at its most elegant, the nights on the port are August at its most electric. This summer has a brand-new protagonist: Lilly’s Club, which celebrated its grand opening on 19 June 2026 with a headline show by American rap star Gunna — taking over the legendary waterfront address that was home to the VIP Room for years.
The concept is simple and confident: a dark room, a serious sound system, and international line-ups until sunrise. The August programme reads like a festival in its own right, with names such as Eric Prydz, FISHER, Skepta, Loco Dice and Central Cee. Days in August: beach parties, market mornings, and the art of escaping the crowd
August days follow a rhythm of their own. Mornings belong to the Place des Lices market (Tuesdays and Saturdays) and an unhurried coffee in the village before the day-trippers arrive. Afternoons belong to Pampelonne, where the beach clubs are at their glamorous peak — book your sunbeds ahead, as August is their busiest month of the year.
Because in Saint-Tropez, the party does not wait for dark. The most coveted daytime scene plays out with your feet in the sand at two addresses in particular.
