A romantic Christmas holiday in Saint-Tropez

Sylvana Maanurdin | CEO

Saint-Tropez makes you think about the endless fun opportunities it offers during summer. Long summer days at the beach that slowly transition into an endless night, days where late lunches and dinner at one of its popular beach clubs slowly but suddenly result in a dance party on the tables. A place where old friends meet again when everyone enters the city at the beginning of a summer full of promises, and where everyone says goodbye when summer is over, to meet again when the sun comes out next year. Little do most people know about the romantic atmosphere Saint-Tropez has to offer during the Christmas holidays. Here’s why you should definitely consider visiting your beloved city this winter.

Home away from home

Chances are that Saint-Tropez feels as your home away from home. During Christmas time, this is no different: friends meet again in their Saint-Tropez homes and wine and dine the holidays away. The lovely events organised in and around the village will keep you entertained and there will be no lack of a cosy holiday-atmosphere that will complete your feeling of a winter wonder land. Go ice-skating on the yearly ice rink at Place des Lices, or skiing in the mountains near by. Auron is a 2,5 hrs drive away from Saint-Tropez and offers a great opportunity for a ski day-trip or for a snowy weekend trip.

Santa Claus is coming to town

Do not miss Santa Claus’ arrival on Christmas eve, when the merry old man comes to town over sea by ship. This fairylike moment should of course not go by unnoticed, so with a dash of Saint-Tropez glamour, you are very welcome to help celebrate with champaign and drinks on the beach. Also during winter, Nikki Beach welcomes you to come enjoy your lunch by the beach and in the evening you may enjoy yourself sipping the then just launched white Ferme de Lices wine. This small vineyard, Ferme de Lices, yearly launches their delicious wine in December which gives you the perfect reason to pour yourself and your loved ones an extra glass. This year, the wine from 2014 will be launched an you do not want to miss this.

New Year’s

When midnight strikes and the old year comes to an end, fireworks will lit up the sky above the port where you can celebrate the start of a new year with the Italian, the Dutch, Germans and Englishmen, who gather there to enjoy the colorful spectacle. Afterwards, you may dance the night away at one of the many bars. When slowly awakening on New Year’s Day, you may enjoy a typical lunch at the beach. At Club 55, for example, you re-unite with your friends from last night and revisit lovely memories made last night over a delicious lunch.

Spending the winter holidays in Saint-Tropez will give you nothing short of a magical experience that may remind you of the delightful London Christmas-vibes. And when you just want to spend cosy nights at home, with everything taken care of, we are of course delighted to finding the perfect home for your stay.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
