About the bastide

La Bastide la Rêve is a truly exceptional Provençal farmhouse — a residence with around 400 years of history, sympathetically renovated for modern living while retaining all the soul, scale and warmth of an authentic bastide. Set within the charming wine village of Plan-de-la-Tour, the property sits among the rolling vineyards and oak-covered hills of one of the most romantic corners of the Saint-Tropez region.

The bastide unfolds across 3 hectares of private land, with sweeping views over the village rooftops and the surrounding countryside. A 10-minute drive brings you to the beaches and harbour of Sainte-Maxime, while Saint-Tropez itself is around 20 minutes by car — or, more romantically, a short ferry crossing from Sainte-Maxime.

At the heart of the gardens, a beautifully positioned 10 m × 5 m south-facing swimming pool sits beside a charming pool house, ensuring the water is gloriously warm throughout the long Provençal summer. The grounds are planted with fruit trees, ancient olives, towering oaks and a tapestry of Mediterranean species; part of the land can even be used to accommodate horses, with a shaded meadow for quiet grazing.

Inside, the bastide offers an elegantly proportioned living room with fireplace, a separate dining room and a beautifully equipped country kitchen. The four bedrooms are arranged across different levels — connected by a charming mezzanine — and each is paired with its own private bathroom.

La Bastide la Rêve is an absolutely wonderful retreat for guests who love the slower rhythm of authentic Provence: morning markets in Plan-de-la-Tour, long lunches in the shade of centuries-old olive trees, and the option of beach days in Sainte-Maxime or a glamorous evening across the bay in Saint-Tropez.
